Abstract
"The results presented here are based on telephone interviews with Hawaii residents. All surveys were completed between May 21 and June 3, 1987, with telephone calling on weekdays and weekends. A total of 600 interviews were with Oahu residents, with an additional 100 from Kauai, 100 from Maui and 101 from the Big Island. ... [Energy-related] questions were asked, in order to measure resident attitudes about the possibility of an oil crisis, and the development of an undersea cable to transport geothermal energy from the Big Island to Oahu."
