Description:NOT OCRed. This folder contains a second copy of a booklet on the hearings before the Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs of the United States Senate. These are hearings at which community members can give their opinion, or express their views on establishing the Hawaiian Aboriginal Claims Settlement Study Commission and concerns, or problems of Native Hawaiians. Also found in the hearings are information of relationships of Hawaiians to their land, the displacement of Hawaiians from the land, Hawaiian homes and land tenure in Hawai'i. There are also documents from those who attended the hearings, such as statistics on Hawaiian populations throughout the years, a list of cabinet members in office in Hawai'i and also related legislation such as the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.
