This folder contains various congressional records, news articles and correspondence regarding Senate Joint Resolution 4, a resolution for the establishment of a Aboriginal Hawaiian Native Claims Settlement Study Commission. The joint resolution appeared to find evidence that the United States needed to compensate for some historical wrong committed against the Hawaiian people. Included in this folder are also various correspondence between Senator Daniel K. Inouye and community members who express their opinions, or interests in S.J. Res. 4, along with a group who helped in the selection of members for the commission and also helped with research on problems, or concerns of the Hawaiian people.
