Description:This folder contains various letters and speeches from Senator Daniel K. Inouye expressing a regret, or congratulations to accomplishments of various groups, or politicians. There are also various excerpts from famous presidents and politicians regarding various events in U.S. history. Inouye also addresses the crisis occurring in the U.S. government regarding Watergate, criticisms against the government by U.S. citizens, the balance of powers, along with examples of how the growth of executive power, especially in the White House has led to an imbalance of power within the 3 branches of government. He also looks at efforts to promote tourism, civil rights, the increase in expenditures of the executive office of the President and how it has sometimes been unconstitutional and unprecedented.
