Includes "A Table of the National Schools on the Hawaiian Islands, for the year 1847." Table has numbers for Hawaii, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Oahu, Kauai, and Niihau of the following information: districts; protestant schools, teachers and scholars; catholic schools, teachers, and scholars; entire teachers and scholars; teacher salaries and days taught; total cost of schools, amount recieved and paid out, debt remaining; numbers of readers and writers; numbers in arithmetic, geography, child's philosphy, moral philosphy, sacred geography, and vocal music. Also includes number of ordained Clergyman on the different islands by Protestants and Catholics and children of Protestant missionaries.
