Contains a speech given to the Save Our Seas Conference about the intimate study of the environment by Native Hawaiians, and their practice of efficient and productive cultivation techniques for their crops which ensured sustainability for current and future generations. Discusses how resources were gifts from the Gods, the productive zones, land divisions, food production, and loko iʻa. Includes two figures of the food chain in loko iʻa, and a copied sketch of Kailua, Oʻahu.
