Letter from Executive to Assistant Secretary of War William P. Scobey to Hawaii Delegate Joseph R. Farrington in response to an inquiry from Farrington regarding a Private Stanwood Nakata, who had volunteered for the 100th Battalion but was assigned to the 442nd. Private Nakata requests transfer to the Coast Guard as he does not want to join a racially segregated unit.
