Letter in reply to Mr. John Hay (Westbrook, Maine) from Colonel Scobey, Executive to the Assistant Secretary of War, outlining the policy of the War Department to treat Japanese American soldiers exactly as other American soldiers, and inquiring into the details of an the excerpt mentioned by Mr. Hay. Attached are a memo to Colonel Scobey from the Director, War Relocation Authority, referring the letter from Mr. Hay, which was sent to the Office of War Information; and a copy of the letter from Mr. Hay, quoting an excerpt from a religious pamphlet on restrictions placed on Nisei soldiers, with a request for the real facts.
