Letter to General DeWitt, Commanding General, Western Defense Command and Fourth Army from Assistant Secretary of War John J. McCloy, about a report on the "Manzanar affair" and asking for a clarification. Attached are a letter to Dillon Myer, Director, War Relocation Authority from Colonel Scobey, Executive to the Assistant Secretary of War, related to the transfer of Japanese evacuees from Manzanar (relocation center) to Camp Mohave at Moab, Utah; another letter to Mr. Myer from Colonel Scobey, sending a copy of a report of an incident at Denver, Colorado between Japanese evacuees and military police, with suggested measures for the future; and a handwritten report (by a military police officer?) on what appears to be the "mob" incident at Manzanar relocation center in late 1942.
