Abstract
Description
This folder contains a speech by Senator Daniel K. Inouye that was given before the Japanese American Citizens League. In this speech Inouye recalls speaking with various board members and asking what will occur after reparation and internment issues are resolved and their responses. He then goes into the topic of reparations and reasoning, including looking at historical examples of why reparations should be given to those of Japanese descent who were interned in the U.S. during WWII. He also shares statistics of Asians living in the U.S. and racism, prejudice, and scapegoating experienced by Asians and Asian Americans living in the U.S.
