Abstract

Description

This folder contains a statement by Senator Inouye given at the Democratic Convention. He mentions how the leadership of the Democratic Party or People's Party was aggressive and vigorous in the past and how some have become apologists or attack each other within the party. He emphasizes that we are 'ohana, and reminds people of the dreams of 1954 and dreams of today, talking about how we developed Hawai'i as a model for the nation in education, fair labor, gun control, women's rights, and elderly care. In this speech, he asks people to stand tall and stand together for Democratic leadership and commitment.
