Abstract

The following overview considers Kaua'i archaeological sites in terms of form and function. Hommon (1970a, 1970b) began a list of morphological site types in Hawai' i, partly with the intention to separate obsetvable fonn from interpreted function, and a similar approach is advocated here. Some sites are prominent stonework monuments, and others are modest aggregations of discarded tools and food refuse.
