Abstract

Description

This folder holds testimony that was given before the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Indian Affairs on S. 2243, which is a bill to improve the health status of Native Hawaiians and other purposes. This testimony looks at the health needs of Native Hawaiians, the findings of the Native Hawaiian Health Needs Study, and the list of problems faced by Hawaiians who had taken the survey. The testimony also looks at what is missing in regard to meeting the health needs of Hawaiians, such as the lack of healthcare providers in areas of need. This folder also holds information on the purpose and general duties of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.
