She shares pride in Roosevelt High School as her alma mater and encourages people to work together as a community and bring schools back into excellent shape. She stresses the power of the community as well as the endeavors of the government. She also shares her story and thoughts as a teacher and talks about the importance of a quality learning environment, which is crucial to students in their academic achievement by stressing the 3 R's of school: Repair, Remodel and Restore.
