This folder contains a speech by Senator Daniel K. Inouye to the National Education Association. In this speech Inouye covers the topic of legislation related to education and the issues facing Congress which impact the education system and educators. He talks of tuition tax credits for students attending private schools, support for public schools, the issues with having prayer in school, and the reasons for not including religion in schools. Inouye also touches upon the concern over the decline of math and science skills by students and the neglect in support for the arts. The difficulties of adequately funding educational programs under the Reagan Administration are also discussed.
