Description

This folder holds various documents from the National Archives related to Hawai'i. The various documents are: a ratification of friendship, commerce and navigation between the U.S. and Hawai'i, a letter to a ship captain, a nomination of a minister resident to Hawai'i, the Ku'e Petitions protesting annexation and letters from Queen Lili'uokalani protesting the assertion of ownership of crown lands by the United States. There are also more modern materials such as a postal map of Maui and letters from members of the 442nd asking for statehood for Hawai'i. The Ku'e Petitions can be found in Hamilton Library in the Hawaiian Collection and the call # is: DU627.3 .K84 2005.
