This folder contains a speech from Senator Daniel K. Inouye given upon receiving the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun Award. In his speech, Inouye thanks those at the U.S. Embassy for honoring him. Inouye speaks of how he followed the American ambassador in Tokyo's statement, to create positive relations with Asia. He also talks of the change in relationship between the U.S. and Japan, considering they had been rivals during WWII.
