This folder contains a speech from Senator Daniel K. Inouye to the Association of Practitioners in Infection Control. In this speech Inouye talks about the latest figures related to healthcare expenditures and support for professional nurses. Inouye also looks at international healthcare policies and compares them to those in the United States. He also talks about the Surgeon General's report which was released in 1979. He then looks at Federal employees' health benefit programs, along with various programs to support certain healthcare needs and legislation which addresses the issue of malpractice and professional liability.
