Telephone conversation between Colonel William P. Scobey & Lieutenant Joseph Hughes at the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War, Lieutenant Eugene Siler, and others at Jerome Relocation Center. Scobey and Hughes explain to the Japanese-American representatives from Jerome that the formation of an all-Japanese-American Combat Team is the best way to demonstrate to the rest of America that Japanese Americans are not only loyal but dedicated Americans who deserve full rights and equal treatment.
