Abstract
Description
This folder contains a speech given by Senator Daniel K. Inouye at the Planning Symposium on Cancer Outreach and Control in the South Pacific. In his speech, he explains that the most feared medical diagnosis, at the time, is cancer. He explains that, to lower the increasing mortality rates for cancer, he and the National Cancer Institute plan to increase the budget for cancer treatment and biomedical research. He addresses the steps needed in order to increase the budget, and gives suggestions to those in the medical community on how they can personally expand medical research and improve the nation's overall health.
