This folder includes correspondence, analysis, and reports on Native Hawaiian issues and legislation that Senator Daniel K. Inouye had worked on, including the Native Hawaiian Manpower Act of 1977, the Hawaiian Native Educational Assistance Act of 1974, the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, and various bills related to Federal programs for Native Americans. Material relating to the Hawaiian Homes Commission are also included in this folder, along with S.J. Res. 155, which creates a Native Hawaiians Study Commission. There is also a needs assessment of Native Hawaiians, a short summary of the history of Hawai'i, a report on ethnicity and health of the population in Hawai'i, and a copy of a message from President Cleveland to Congress relating to the annexation of Hawai'i.
