dc.description This folder contains a speech given by Senator Inouye at the OHA Candidate Conference on September 6, 1980. In it, he addresses the return of Kaho'olawe to the Hawaiian people, Federal programs that provide economic assistance for Native Hawaiians, the Hawaiian Education Act and the Hawaiian reparations bill, related legislation, and positive changes that have occurred in providing opportunities for young Hawaiians to be successful. Inouye stresses the importance of showing up for OHA elections.
