Abstract
Description
This folder contains a speech given by Senator Daniel K. Inouye to the Rotary Club of Honolulu. In this speech Senator Inouye talks about the spirit of America, especially during WWII, and remembers and honors those who gave their lives to the war effort. He also gives his opinion on why parades and inspiring speeches to honor those who took part in WWII have missed the essence of why the U.S. was victorious during WWII. Inouye also includes memories he has of war efforts by school children, volunteers and citizens contributing to the war effort with victory gardens, or looking for scrap metal.
