Memorandum for Mr. McCloy by Colonel Scobey, Executive to Mr. McCloy, reporting on three trips the Colonel made to war relocation centers holding Japanese and Japanese Americans. Offers an open discussion of: the Colonel's first trip to Gila River, Manzanar and Colorado River relocation centers with observations on the registration and volunteering, and lack thereof, at these centers; a second trip to Rohwer and Jerome relocation centers reporting on the difficulties of the registration activities there; and a fairly detailed summary of a third trip to Arizona and Gila River and Colorado River and also on hearings led by Senator (Albert) Chandler on the war relocation centers.
