Abstract

Phase I: Program Review. This Program Review for the Hawaii Deep Water Electrical Transmission Cable Demonstration Program (HDWC Program) has been prepared to provide background information on the history and overall purposes of the Program that is currently in progress; to summarize the work that has been performed to mid-January 1982; and to identify future work tasks that will be required to successfully complete the Program. Also provided are financial data for the on-going work. Stated in other terms, this document is a progress report only and has been prepared to inform appropriate agencies and groups of the progress of the HDWC Program. The following sections of this report provide a brief overview of Hawaii's alternate energy resources and the resource development programs that are in progress; describe the need for an history of the Hawaii Deep Water Cable Program; review the present status of HDWC Program work in progress; and provide cost information for the present work. Also provided are brief descriptions of future Program work tasks and the estimated costs of those tasks.
