Abstract
Description
This folder contains correspondence and information pertaining to the campaign leading up to the general election following Daniel K. Inouye's primary victory. There is various information/campaign research about voter registration, recurring issues like the oath taken by the Knights of Columbus which had been called into question in the early 1900s, facts sheets for Democrats, etc. Much of this information comes from the state of Washington. There are itineraries for Daniel K. Inouye's visits (end of July - August, 1960) to the islands throughout the state of Hawai'i distributed by Morio Omori to the lead members of the campaign committee on each of the islands. Of interest are several letters written to the Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census, concerning their directive that the hiring of census workers would be handled through Republican Party headquarters.
