Abstract

This series of letters were written by Lumad youth from the Alternative Learning Center for Agriculture and Livelihood Development (ALCADEV) and TRIFPSS (Tribal Filipino Program of Lianga Surigao del Sur), responding to the letters from Hawaiʻi students from Farrington High School and Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus. It documents Lumad students' reactions receiving letters from Hawaiʻi students and feellings of encouragement after the tragedy of the deaths of their leaders, and also their impending forced evacuation from Hanayan, Surigao del Sur, by military and corporate logging companies.
