dc.descriptionSummary on the subject of the return of Hawaiian evacuees to their homeland. Secretary of the Interior sent letter of 14 Feb 1945 on subject, interim reply by the Secretary of War on 23 Feb 1945. General Richardson of the Hawaiian Area Command provided his policy and actions for a board of officers to review the cases of evacuees. Recommends a letter for signature by the Secretary of War to the Secretary of the Interior to inform him of the policy established in Hawaii and that it is expected most of the evacuees will be eligible for return and that for security reasons a small number of evacuees must be retained in the Continental US.
