Letter to Colonel Wilson of the War Relocation Authority from Colonel Gerhardt informing of action being taken to transfer back to the 442nd Infantry a number of Japanese American soldiers who were transferred out of the unit because they had spent time in Japan. Attached is a letter from Colonel Merritt Booth, Executive Officer of the 442nd, summarizing the situation of the transfer; a memorandum for the record to return 32 of 37 personnel to Camp Shelby; a memo from Colonel Gerhardt thanking Colonel Wilson for a letter from a Sgt. Tatsumi Iwate; and the letter from Sgt. Iwate to his "Gang" back at the 442nd, Headquarters Company 3rd Battalion from Ft. Jackson after he was transferred out.
