NOT OCRed. This folder holds a cover letter and package of a proposed Federal legislation that was created in order to implement the recommendations of the Native Hawaiians Study Commission. This package looks at various programs already in place that are relevant to implementing the recommendations of the Native Hawaiians Study Commission and future actions that need to be conducted in order to achieve implement Federal and state programs. There is also a resolution of Congressman Akaka on extending the definition of Native Americans to include Hawaiians and information on the role of the United States in the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy.
