Letter to Dillon Myer, Director, War Relocation Authority from Colonel Scobey, Executive to the Assistant Secretary of War, informing that action will be taken related to 2 enclosures concerning Japanese Americans (brief descripts of enclosures appended to this letter). Attached are a letter to Assistant Secretary of War John J. McCloy from Mr. Myer enclosing the aforementioned correspondence; a copy of a memorandum to Colonel Gould, Military Intelligence Language School from Ralph Merritt, Project Director, Manzanar Relocation Area, providing some of the reasons given by Nisei at Manzanar for the lack of interest in signing up for the Language School; a letter to Mortimer Graves, American Council of Learned Societies from Assistant Secretary of War John J. McCloy on the problem of re-introducing Japanese on the West Coast; a memorandum for General George Strong, Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2 from Mr. McCloy on Military Intelligence Language Schools and Japanese students and graduates of the Schools; and a report on a visit to the Military Intelligence Training Center, Camp Ritchie, Maryland, made on November 13, 1942.
