Abstract
Description
Contains testimony linking the development of the H-3 to Hawaiʻi’s market economy and the political influence and debts incurred by the plantation system. Highlights flawed decision-making processes, citing inadequate archaeological evidence and conclusions regarding Northern Halawa which allowed the H-3 to be built. Included are maps of the H-3 route, surveys by Bishop Museum, and memorandums discussing historic preservation review and archaeological mitigation plans, revealing oversights in past interpretations of Northern Halawa’s archaeological significance.
