Memorandum for Assistant Secretary of War John J. McCloy regarding use of doctors, dentists and nurses of Japanese ancestry from General Kirk, Surgeon General of the U.S. Army. Included are a preceding letter to General Kirk from Mr. McCloy requesting re-examination of a policy of not using Japanese American medical personnel except in the Japanese American combat unit; a memo for Mr. McCloy from his Executive Officer Colonel Scobey about excess dentists in the medical detachment of the 442nd Infantry Combat Team; and a memo to General Kirk from Mr. McCloy about commissioning and assigning Japanese (American) doctors to the War Relocation Authority.
