Letter to Secretary of the Interior Ickes with full reply on the return of Hawaii evacuees in War Relocation Centers to their homes in Hawaii rather than be relocated in un-restricted areas of the (continental) US. States that an extensive study was done pertaining to the re-entry to Hawaii of the evacuees, and a policy and Board of Officers was established to review the case of each evacuee on whether to permit their return or not. Describes some of the procedures, travel priority and limitations, and informs the Secretary that it is expected most of the evacuees will be eligible for return and that for secuity reasons a small number of evacuees must be retained in the Continental US.
