Letter in reply to Milward Simpson, Chairman, Civilian Defense, Cody, Wyoming from Assistant Secretary of War John J. McCloy, regarding Heart Mountain Relocation Center and the military police company stationed there. Attached are: 1) a copy of a telegram to the War Department from Mr. Simpson requesting an increase in guard at the relocation center; 2) a memorandum for the Assistant Secretary of War from the Chief of Administrative Services, Services of Supply, about a joint memorandum on security at war relocation centers; 3) a copy of a draft memorandum to the Commanding Generals of the 8th and 9th Service Corps Areas, about security of war relocation centers; 4) a memorandum to General Smith, Chief of Administrative Services, Services of Supply, enclosing a letter about a joint memorandum on the military police and project staff at relocation centers; 5) a copy of a letter to Mr. McCloy from M. S. Eisenhower, Director, War Relocation Authority, suggesting a joint memorandum on the military police and project staff at relocation centers; 6) a memorandum for Mr. Eisenhower from the Executive, Assistant Secretary of War, along with an accompanying memorandum on military police requirements including military police to guard at war relocation centers.
