dc.description This folder contains news articles, timelines, correspondence and de-classified documents relating to the agreement between the U.S. and the Government of the Republic of Peru on the relocation and internment of Japanese Latin Americans in the U.S. during WWII. There are also accounts of the treatment of Japanese Latin Americans during their relocation and internment. Also included is a draft of the Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Latin Americans of Japanese Descent Act, which established a fact-finding commission to extend the study on the relocation, internment and deportation of Japanese Latin Americans to Axis countries and to analyze the impact of those actions in relation to redress.
