Abstract

Description

This folder contains the October 1971 environmental impact statement for the Kaho'olawe Island Target Complex that was created by the Department of the Navy. This environmental impact statement looks over the impact of the military use of Kaho'olawe as an island target complex, the adverse environmental effects from military use, and the relationship between local short-term use of the environment and the enhancement of long-term productivity. This document also looks at the irreversible or irretrievable commitments of resources involved in military use of Kaho'olawe, and the history of land tenure of Kaho'olawe.
