Letter in reply to Secretary of the Interior Ickes who suggested permitting most of the Hawaii evacuees in War Relocation Centers to return to their homes in Hawaii rather than be relocated in un-restricted areas of the (continental) US. Secretary Stimson referred the matter to the Hawaiian Area military commander and is awaiting his comments.
