Abstract

Description

Letter from Executive to Assistant Secretary of War Harrison A. Gerhardt to Saburo Nakashima, Chairman of the Heart Mountain Community Council in response to a petition from the citizens of Heart Mountain. The included petition requests equal treatment for servicemembers of Japanese ancestry (including the draft being reinstated for them, equal promotion, and equal access to all services and jobs), the ability to return to the West Coast, and protection after release from detention.
