This folder contains a speech delivered by the Senator to the Honolulu Press Club. In this speech, Inouye addresses the silver anniversary of Hawai'i's statehood, the journey to statehood, the statehood vote, and the movement for statehood. Inouye also compares Hawai'i statistics to those of the United States regarding family income, unemployment rates, mortality rates, education, voter turnout, participation in WWII, and addresses the reasons why Hawai'i was entitled to become a state in the United States.
