Memorandum to General Kirk, Surgeon General of the U.S. Army from Assistant Secretary of War John J. McCloy enclosing a letter from a Japanese American dentist, Harry Y. Kita, and asking that the current policy, not to utilize Japanese American personnel in the medical corps and the dental service except in the Japanese American combat team, be changed. The letter from Mr. Kita is attached and summarizes his actions to volunteer for service, his qualifications and requests assistance from the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War to effect his appointment.
