This folder contains correspondence between the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the State of Hawai’i Department of Transportation, and the Washington, D.C. Department of Transportation concerning legislation and governmental affairs. As Chairman of the Subcommittee on Merchant Marine and Tourism, Senator Daniel K. Inouye acknowledges receipt of a letter regarding Pacific Coast Association of Port Authorities (PCAPA) Resolution No. 805 requesting Congress to enact measures to improve administrative laws and regulations. The Department of Transportation Highways Division/Planning Branch for Honolulu and the Hawaii District Office informs Daniel K. Inouye of an approval from the Federal Highway Administration for the Hawaii Belt Road project. Correspondence from Senior Legislative Assistant Peter L. Trask acknowledges receipt of a letter concerning a hearing request for S. 1300, the International Act of 1979, and S. 382, the Competition Improvements Act of 1979.
