This folder contains material related to S. 916 (96th Congress, 1st Session), the Native Hawaiian Education Act, whose purpose is to increase educational opportunities for Native Hawaiians and to provide educational programs for Native Hawaiians. This folder also includes information on the special relationship of the U.S. government with Native Hawaiians, information on differences between Hawai'i schools and other state school systems, the definition of a Native Hawaiian, and related legislation.
