This folder contains a speech given by Senator Daniel K. Inouye on the dedication of Ka'apahu, which had been acquired by the National Park Service. In this speech Senator Inouye talks about the ownership over Ka'apahu, the establishment of Haleakala as a national park, and the acquisition of Nu'u property to expand the park. He also talks about legislation and the work of Congress in acquiring funds to purchase land in order to preserve and protect sacred lands in Hawai'i.
