Abstract
Description
This folder contains Navy statements, correspondence, and news releases, including an announcement for the RIMPAC '82 exercise, the Navy's comments on proposed military-civilian use of Kaho'olawe, and statements regarding the historical, legal, and national defense justification for military use of Kaho'olawe, and the status of the archaeological sites on the island. There is a memo expressing the Navy's intentions to continue using Kaho'olawe as a gunnery and bombing target despite Hawaiian protests. Other issues addressed include the goat population and the cost of cleanup.
