Abstract

This document, dated July 1, 1951, is a blue carbon copy of a typescript, measuring 33 x 20.5 cm (13 x 8 inches). It is printed on both sides and features original red confidential stamps. The document includes pencil annotations detailing numbers of uniforms, blankets, and equipment in the blank spaces below the main text. It exhibits soft folds with tiny tears and a small loss of the white margin at the top center, with edges and folds slightly age-toned. The document outlines regulations and procedures for Turkish soldiers returning to Turkey from Korea. It also includes specific instructions for prisoners, soldiers who volunteered to remain in Korea, those treated for syphilis, and the distribution of ammunition and weapons. Composed by Tahsin Yazıcı, a distinguished military commander who led the Turkish Brigade during the Korean War, the document reflects his significant role in the conflict, including his brigade's actions at the Battle of the Ch'ongch'on River.
