This folder holds a statement by Senator Daniel K. Inouye for the Senate Interior and Insular Affairs Committee hearings on S.J. Res. 155. In this statement, Senator Inouye speaks of the legitimacy of the cause to obtain redress for Native Hawaiians, describes his efforts to work with Native Hawaiian communities and leaders on legislation, and addresses past efforts to gain redress. Inouye stresses the unmet obligations that were recommended by the Aboriginal Claims Settlement Study Commission.
