Description
This folder contains documents related to S. 791 (103rd Congress, 1st Session), a bill for the relief of Otto Orenstein, who was born in Austria, but was without Austrian citizenship due to being Jewish and was interned on Sand Island, on O'ahu. This folder also contains correspondence between Otto Orenstein and Senator Daniel K. Inouye regarding redress for his internment, along with other news articles related to those who were falsely imprisoned during WWII on suspicion of being German spies. This folder also holds materials related to redress for non-Japanese Americans for being wrongly imprisoned during WWII. Constituent case files are restricted in accordance with the collection's gift agreement. This folder is accessible in the Moir Reading Room.
