The Hawaiian Journal of History, first published in 1967, is an annual scholarly journal devoted to original articles on the history of Hawai‘i, Polynesia, and the Pacific area. Each issue includes articles on a variety of subjects; illustrations; book reviews; notes and queries; and a bibliography of Hawaiiana titles of historical interest.

Starting with volume 52 (2018), journal issues will be available through this site after 5 years have passed, with 2018 being available at the start of 2023.

Volumes 37 (2003) through the current issue are available through EBSCO's Academic Search Complete. In Hawaiʻi, people with UH usernames, and people with Hawaiʻi State Public Library System library card numbers and PINs have access to Academic Search Complete. Outside of Hawaiʻi, check with your local library to see if you have access to print copies or to Academic Search Premier.
