This collection features archival materials of American Friends Service Committee-Hawaiʻi Area Program. This Quaker Peace organization was founded in 1968 and has worked on anti-war issues, supported conscientious objectors, built solidarity with Kanaka Maoli movements for independence and self-determination, and engaged other spiritual and activist traditions in Hawaiʻi. In 2010, the Hawaiʻi Area Program evolved into an independent local organization called Hawaiʻi Peace and Justice. Visit their website at www.wp.hawaiipeaceandjustice.org.
